Claims stay within the evidence
Research topics are labeled by their evidence state. Where supporting sources are not yet available, a topic is marked “review planned” rather than cited.
About
ClarityPlan exists because nonprofit executives are routinely asked to compensate for organizational conditions that were never named. The work is to name them accurately, then determine what should change.
Purpose
ClarityPlan identifies organizational friction, distinguishes symptoms from causes, determines what requires leadership or organizational change, and applies AI only where it materially reduces unnecessary work or increases leadership capacity.
ClarityPlan helps leaders reduce unnecessary work while preserving the checks, choices, and human judgment that protect people.
ClarityPlan combines executive advisory and practical AI learning. We begin with the operating problem and determine where AI can contribute. When the underlying issue involves process, governance, or decision ownership, we examine those conditions before recommending technology.
Founder
Founder & Principal, ClarityPlan
Willis F. Kettrell, Ph.D., is a nonprofit operations and human services executive and the Founder & Principal of ClarityPlan. His professional experience includes leadership across early childhood education, workforce development, and senior services. His approach connects operational discipline, organizational diagnosis, and responsible technology use to the practical demands of executive leadership.
Through ClarityPlan, he is developing advisory and training approaches that help nonprofit leaders examine organizational friction, strengthen judgment, and turn priorities into focused action.
Willis’s approach is grounded in executive thought partnership: listening closely to the leader’s operating reality, questioning assumptions, and helping turn analysis into practical action. Responsible AI use forms part of this work, including learning to assign tasks clearly, challenge generated output, and judge what is appropriate to use.
Experience and practice
The experience described here comes from the founder’s prior leadership roles. It is distinct from ClarityPlan client engagements.
ClarityPlan’s approach draws on founder operating experience and continuing research. Its preliminary tools support inquiry and do not establish a definitive organizational diagnosis.
Evidence practice
Research topics are labeled by their evidence state. Where supporting sources are not yet available, a topic is marked “review planned” rather than cited.
A large number of articles about a friction does not establish that the friction is becoming more common. The two are recorded separately.
Findings are stated as hypotheses—“may indicate,” “preliminary,” “further diagnosis required”—until the evidence supports more.
